Cream Cheese Stuffed Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread

This morning my alarm went off at 5am. Yes. 5. A. M. I had politely set my phone alarm on the vibrate setting so as to not wake my hard working hubby before he was ready. As soon as I heard it shaking on my dresser, I quickly shut it off. This was a mistake as I began to snooze again, starting several crazy dream segments that made me feel like I had been sleeping a long time. Perhaps they were a quick summary of the entire nights' dreams. Who knows. The point is that 30 minutes later I awoke with a start. You see, I had the best of intentions of trying this delicious sounding recipe for a special breakfast this morning. I needed to get it put together and in the oven as close to 5 as possible to ensure it had enough time to bake and be ready for said hard working hubby to enjoy before having to leave for work. I flew into the kitchen and quickly began opening cans of Cinnamon Rolls (being startled every time they Popped), flattening them, stuffing with a piece of Cream Cheese, and tossing into my fluted pan. As hard as I tried, they didn't bake as quickly as I hoped and were not ready for my hubby to try. Hey, I had good intentions, right?! I did make a fresh pot of coffee ;).

At any rate, Justin doesn't always like really sweet things for breakfast, so he can enjoy this as a snack later today; if I don't eat it all.

This was so easy to throw together and has all the gooey fatty goodness I look for in a Good Morning Treat! Instead of posting the whole recipe, or shall I say shopping list, here, I will direct you to a fabulous website.

I simply love the stuff she posts and am usually rolling with laughter while reading her posts, which is great since laughing helps me burn off some calories before diving into the yummies. :)

My plate is now empty. As is my mug. My fingers are sticky. I do believe that means it is time for seconds and for me to sign off. T.G.I.F!!

Beta Test

Over Spring Break (about a month ago now), my vehicle decided it wanted attention and was not available to me. This changed several plans that I had had for the kids and I, but 'it is was it is' (hehe, Kathy ;)) and we made new ones.

One of them I was able to keep was to visit a pet store and get new pets of the swimming variety. I usually go to PetsMart but decided to go to Petco, mostly because it was closer at the time. I really liked their set up and it made for a fun and exciting outing for all of us. After spending some time observing the different animals, I told the boys they could each choose a Beta. I was amazed at the selection of Beta's they had; many different colors and shapes, and different type of fins. I began 'suggesting' my options to the boys, but their decision making is much simpler than mine. They just look at color; Blue for Weseley and Red for Patrik.

I decided that Raia should have one too and quickly found the perfect one. A baby Beta for Baby Raia (as she is so affectionately called by her brothers and friends). I had never seen baby Beta's for sale before. They are teeny tiny and according to the sales assistant, they don't know the gender or genre of Beta that it will be. How fun, I thought, to actually watch this tiny thing grow into a full size Beta. I found one that appeared to have a glint of pinkish tint to it, as it was after all, very small. We made our purchases and headed homeward.

Meet Weseley's Blue Beta, Boba Phet. He is a feisty guy and makes me laugh as he will always attack the wall whenever I walk by. He truly believes he can take me out. He is just as determined to take Goldy out, as well. Thanks to this, we get to see his pretty fins in full view A LOT!

Meet Goldy, Patrik's Red Beta. He is quite a bit more mellow than his tank mate. I personally think he taunts Boba Phet, by slowly swimming by him or simply staring at him with no reaction what so ever. Recently he has become quite active at trying to attack me as well, so perhaps, they are scheming.

This is Baby Beta, aka BB. See it at the bottom there?

Here is an up close view of BB. I meant to take a picture the day we brought it home but of course, I forgot. BB was about 1/2 this size when we got it, making it quite difficult to find it in the tank. I am looking forward to seeing what type of Beta BB will grow into and will post update stats as it changes.
